Welcome to our quick guide on using Zapier with Common Ninja and Mailchimp. This video will show you how to easily automate your workflows, making form submissions and email list management a breeze. Let's dive in and unlock the potential of these powerful tools.
Open Zapier and click the 'Add' button in the top left corner.
Then, click on 'Create Zap.'
Next, select 'Trigger.'
Search for and select the 'Webhooks' trigger. Note that this is a premium Zapier app.
Click on the 'Event' field
and select the 'Catch Hook' option.
Then click 'Continue.'
Click 'Continue' again
and copy the Webhook URL.
Now, navigate to your form in the Common Ninja editor.
In the left panel, click on 'Notifications' and enable the 'Webhooks' option.
In the 'Endpoint' field, paste the Webhook URL you’ve copied from Zapier. Ensure that the 'Payload Format' is set to 'Object.' Save and publish your form.
Access your form and submit it with test data.
You can verify your form submission in the Common Ninja editor under 'Entries.'
Returning to Zapier, click 'Test Trigger.'
Your form submission will appear on Zapier.
Select the submission and click on 'Continue with the Selected record.'
Search for and select the Mailchimp action.
Click on the 'Event' field.
For this example, select 'Add/Update Subscriber.'
Now, you’ll need to connect your Mailchimp account. Click 'Continue' once connected.
Click the 'Audience' field and select an audience from your Mailchimp account.
Next, set the 'Subscriber Email.'
Click the 'Subscriber Email' field then select the field containing the subscriber's email address. Use the 'More' button to expand the data and view the form submission entry, ensuring you select the correct field.
You can do the same for the 'Subscriber Full Name.'
Now, click 'Continue' at the bottom of the right panel.
Now it's time to test your Zapier Zap.
Click on 'Test Step.'
Zapier will attempt to send the form submission to Mailchimp and add a new subscriber.
Congratulations! Your Zapier Zap setup is successful.
