What Is the Card Builder and What Is Its Purpose?

The Card Builder is a customizable widget that allows you to create structured content cards with various types of fields. Each card can include elements such as titles, descriptions, images, ratings, prices, buttons, contact information, and more. You begin by designing a card structure - choosing which fields to include and how they are arranged - and then use that template to create multiple content cards with different data.

Purpose of the Card Builder Widget

The primary purpose of the Card Builder is to help website owners present organized, repeatable content in a visually consistent and engaging format. It’s ideal for showcasing:

• Product listings

• Team member profiles

• Service offerings

• Testimonials or reviews

• Events or locations

By using a single, reusable structure, the widget ensures consistency across content blocks, saves time in design, and improves user experience on the website.

How the Card Builder Works: Fields First, Then Content

The Card Builder follows a simple but powerful two-step process:
1. Define the structure → 2. Add content based on that structure.

Step 1: Set Up Your Card Structure in the “Fields” Tab

Start by clicking on the Fields tab (as shown in the first image). This is where you define the layout and elements that will appear in every card. You can add various field types like:

• Title

• Subtitle

• Description

• Image

• Star Rating

• Price

• Date & Time

• Contact info (Phone, Email, Address)

• Buttons, Links, Coupon codes, and more

These fields form the template that all cards will follow. Think of this tab as your design blueprint.

Step 2: Add and Manage Content in the “Items” Tab

Once your structure is ready, switch to the Items tab (as highlighted in the second image). Here, you can add individual cards - each one following the structure you just defined.

In each card, you’ll be able to fill out content for every field you included (like text, numbers, images, or links). All cards will have a uniform layout, but the content can vary per card. You can add as many cards as needed to display your products, profiles, services, or listings.
