The "Custom Form Submission" feature in the bracket widget is a handy tool that ensures fair voting or predictions by preventing users from voting multiple times. This feature employs custom validation methods based on your chosen parameter, providing you with the flexibility to prevent double votes.
Please note: This feature is available for brackets-type voting and predictions.
To set up the "Custom Form Submission" method, follow these steps:
- In your Bracket editor, navigate to the Votes/Predictions tab.
- Locate the Detect User By option. From the drop-down menu, select Custom form submission.
- A new option named Selected Form will appear. Click on the Widget Selection to choose the specific form users must complete before submitting their vote or prediction. Then, click on the Select widget button.
- Under the "Selected Form" option, use the Form Unique Field feature to choose a unique field from your form that validates each user.
For example, selecting the "Email" field ensures that a user submitting a vote with a particular email address cannot submit another vote.
That's it! You can easily view user submissions by navigating to the Entries tab in your editor. It will display the unique field submitted by each user, which you can use as needed.
Note: the form widget includes a feature called “Multiple Submissions”, when this option is disabled a user will not be able to submit the same email in different brackets that use the same form widget. to prevent that, simply enable the “Multiple Submissions”. For more detailed information on how to enable this feature click here.
Note 2: Keep in mind that the form widget has a maximum submission limit depending on your current plan. If users encounter difficulties submitting the form, it may indicate that the submission limit has been reached. You can increase this limit at any point by upgrading your plan.
