One of the features of the brackets widget is the ability to create prediction brackets (you may read all about them here).
After the tournament begins, and your users start to enter their predictions (Pick'em Brackets), you might want to know who managed to predict who won each game.
Well, exactly for that we created a powerful feature called "Automatic Ranking Calculator" (which is available in the predictions panel). The automatic ranking calculator will take each prediction entry and will give it a score based on a ranking system you set.
How Does The Calculation Work?
Our calculation is very simple. By default, the score is a percentage of correct predictions per game in a bracket (compared to the original bracket).
We'll use the bracket below for reference:
User 1 predictions:
Game Number | Who Won |
1 | Participant 1 |
2 | Participant 3 |
3 | Participant 5 |
4 | Participant 7 |
5 | Participant 3 |
6 | Participant 7 |
7 | Participant 3 |
User 2 predictions:
Game Number | Who Won |
1 | Participant 1 |
2 | Participant 3 |
3 | Participant 5 |
4 | Participant 7 |
5 | Participant 1 |
6 | Participant 5 |
7 | Participant 1 |
Since User 1 had only 4 correct game predictions, his score will be 57(%).
User 2, who managed to nail it for all games, will get a score of 100(%).
If you want, you may use different ranking systems using the Predictions Ranking System setting.
After you select a new ranking system, don't forget to click the Calculate Ranking button again.
