Enabling Prediction:
A prediction bracket (also called a Pick'em Bracket) lets your users predict the winning teams of a tournament. This tutorial provides details on how to enable prediction brackets in our Brackets Widget.
Please note: the following tutorial applies to all types of prediction brackets available in our Brackets widget.
For a comprehensive video on this topic, please refer to the following video:
Setting Up Prediction Brackets:
In the widget editor, go to the Settings tab, locate the Bracket Type option, and open the dropdown menu. From the menu, choose the bracket type you are interested in, but make sure you choose the one with the word “Predictions” to enable the predictions option.
Enabling Prediction:
Once you've selected the predictions bracket type, users can start making predictions. Manage votes and related settings in the Predictions tab.
Here’s what you can do with your predictions bracket from within this tab:
- Voting Starts/End At:
In the Predictions Dates section, you can configure the predictions' start and end dates. To do so, select the Voting Start/End Date and select the needed dates.
- Customizing Predictions Button Text:
You can change the predictions button’s text by entering your desired text in the Button Text option. Changes are immediately reflected on the bracket.
- Votes Validation:
You can add validation options to your votes, like preventing users from creating more than one vote, for example. To do so select the Detect User By option and choose the desired option from the ones presented.
For more details about this option click here. - Share prediction results with your users:
Enable the Show Submission Link setting to provide users with a unique link following their prediction submissions. This unique link allows users to review and share their submissions, providing insights into the accuracy or errors in their predictions after submission.
- Allow Prediction Change:
Enabling the Allow Prediction Change setting, allows users to make changes to their predictions after the first submission.
- Prediction Actions:
This section has two actions:
A. Predictions Summary - Showcase an overview of all predictions made in your brackets.
In the Prediction Actions section, select the Summary Icon to display all predictions in each round.
B. Calculate Ranking - Once the games are over, assess users' prediction accuracy easily.
In the Prediction Actions section, select the Calculate Icon to process users' predictions.
Then, in the Entries tab, you can view the accuracy of each user prediction - Customize the ranking display:
If you want to adjust how the Calculate Ranking feature is presented, go to the Predictions Ranking System setting. Select the field of Type and you will have 3 options to choose from:
- Success Percentage - number of correct predictions (by game) vs number of games in the tournament
- Equal points for all games - equal points per round - a number that defines how many points each correct guess is worth.
- Round-based points - you may define how many points each correct guess is worth per game per round (mostly the more you get close to the final game, the more points you get).
Publish your bracket:
Once everything is set up, you need to publish your bracket. Follow this guide for publishing your bracket: How to Start a Tournament and Publish Your Bracket.
In case you forget to enter any start or end date of predictions, you will receive an error message:
Sharing your bracket:
Once your bracket is published, share it with users. To do so simply navigate to the Prediction tab and copy the URL under the Bracket Link section.
Managing Votes:
Under the Entries tab, view all the submitted votes. Export all your votes using the Export to CSV button.
In addition, delete votes by selecting the desired votes and clicking on the Delete button.
By following these steps, you can create, manage, and share a Prediction bracket for your bracket & tournament.
