When adding a website as a knowledge source for your AI Chatbot, you can choose from three different scanning options. Each option determines how much content the chatbot will extract and use for answering customer queries.
1. Single Page
This option scans only the specific page you provide. The chatbot will extract content from this page alone, making it useful when you want to limit responses to a specific article, FAQ page, or support document.
2. Nested Pages
This option scans the selected page along with all linked pages within the same website. It’s a great balance between full-site scanning and single-page scanning, ensuring that connected content is included while avoiding unnecessary pages.
For example, if you select a product category page, it will also scan individual product pages linked within that category.
3. Full Website
This option scans all pages of the provided domain. The AI will navigate through the entire website, gathering as much information as possible. This is ideal if you want the chatbot to have comprehensive knowledge of everything available on your site.
Which Option Should You Choose?
- Use Single Page if you want to focus on a specific page’s content without including anything else.
- Use Nested Pages if you only want information from a section of your site but not everything.
- Use Full Website if you want the AI to learn everything from your website.
